The SPIRIT team from three Asian countries, namely Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka and three European countries, namely Spain, Cyprus, and Portugal, held a sports education curriculum syllabus on 15-22 June 2022 at the Universitas Sumatera Utara. SPIRIT stands for Sport and physical education as a vehicle for Inclusion and Recognition in India, Indonesia and Sri Lanka, which aims to increase the knowledge of young people or students about increasing exercise and physical activity to prevent non-communicable diseases. The SPIRIT team will issue a curriculum guide to help students understand sports education. The outputs produced by this project are study programs, courses, and modules that can be integrated into the higher education curriculum. In this case, the Universitas Sumatera Utara is fully involved in supporting the training program for the preparation of this sports education syllabus. This outcome will form a collaboration in opening e-learning and long life learning courses in collaboration with all universities in Asia and Europe.
Universitas Sumatera Utara's SPIRIT Coordinator, Prof. Dr. dr. Dina Keumala Sari, M. Gizi, SpGK (K) stated that the activities carried out for six days did not only produce learning objectives in the form of learning outcomes which could later be used as e-learning facilities between countries but also collaborated between faculties in Asian countries and other countries. Europe. This aims to increase the capacity building of universities that are included in the SPIRIT project, funded by ERASMUS plus under the European Union.
