Regulations for Entry of Foreign Students to Indonesia

 

In connection with the issuance of:
1. Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number 34 of 2021
2. Decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number M.HH.-03. GR.01.05 the Year 2021
3. E-Visa Service has been opened for foreigners outside Indonesia who will take part in educational activities in Indonesia
4. New Study Permit Issuance Service has been opened for Foreign Students who are outside Indonesia

Specifically to the holders of limited stay permit (e-Kitas) that have been the end of the period (expired) can come into Indonesia with Rules and Procedures as follows: 

Required to comply with and follow the applicable rules and procedures to enter the territory of Indonesia
Have an Exit Re-entry Permit (ERP)/Exit Permit Only (EPO)
Have a new Study Permit Letter
Must use visa: Limited Stay Permit for Study Purpose (index code: C 316)
The entry point of the international trip is only through the arrival gate of the airport in Jakarta

 Required to make a Letter of Declaration as follows: Download

a. Willing to follow the guidelines to enter Indonesia
b. Willing to comply with all Indonesian Health Protocols
c. Having funds and providing travel costs, quarantine, RT-PCR swab tests, as well as all costs while in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic

Required to show the ownership of health insurance/travel insurance that includes health financing including COVID-19 prevailing during in Indonesia

Mandatory to follow the Health Protocol according to the Circulars issued by the Indonesian government (Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force) when entering Indonesia: Download

a. Required to show a complete dose of vaccine certificate in English, issued by a sworn translator from domain country, in addition to the country of origin
b. Required to show RT-PCR test with negative results from domain country with maximum sampling 3x24 hours before departure
c. Required to retest RT-PCR after arriving in Indonesia and on the 4th day of quarantine
d. Required to quarantine for 5x24 hours after arriving in Indonesia at quarantine accommodation places that received recommendations from the Indonesia COVID-19 Task Force, where the list of quarantine places can be seen on : Download
e. Quarantine costs are borne by foreign nationals
f. Filling out Indonesia's International e-HAC (can be downloaded at Playstore/Appstore)
g. Must have the PeduliLindungi app (can be downloaded at Playstore/Appstore)


1. PROCEDURE AND REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING EXIT RE-ENTRY PERMIT (ERP)

The process of EXIT RE-ENTRY PERMIT is FREE OF CHARGE

Students and representatives should be obliged with applicable rules and procedures

For students who are represented, it is a must to provide a Power of Attorney

Submit an ERP application to IAO through a representative in Medan, with the following requirements:

A copy of Student ID Card

A copy of Latest Tuition Fee

A copy of Passport

A copy off all stamp ITAS

A copy of latest e-KITAS

A copy of stamp the latest departure from Indonesia

Coloured photograph 3x4

Provide three sheets of Indonesian stamp duty IDR 10,000

Provide one red map

Law and Employment Declaration (Provided by IAO)

Application Letter (Provided by IAO)

IAO will inform the student or representative if the Cover Letter, Declaration and Guarantee Letter of Sponsor are complete and available to collect

The representative will complete the ERP application for further processing to immigration by bring a Power of Attorney

 
 2. PROCEDURE AND REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING STUDY PERMIT LETTER

 

1 The process of STUDY PERMIT LETTER is FREE OF CHARGE
2 Students and representatives should be obliged with applicable rules and procedures
3 Submit an ERP application to IAO through a representative in Medan
4 Submit a new Study Permit Letter at IAO through a representative in Medan, with the following requirements:
  1 CV or Identity Information (Download)
  2 Letter of Fund Guarantee (Download)
  3 Declaration not to work and to obey Indonesian Law (Download)
  4 Medical Statement (Proof of good health and being free of infectious diseases issued by the hospital in country of origin)
  5 Passport (Passport expiry depends on the SIB application. Minimum 1 year for 6 months application, 1 year 6 months for 1 year application, AND 2 years 6 months for 2 years application)
  6 Coloured photograph (RAW FILE, not the scanned photograph, wearing a shirt with red background)
  7 Educational certificate (Special professional education must attach a bachelor's degree)
  8 Latest official transcript
  9 Cover letter from the Faculty (Include information that the student submitting the application is in the country of origin)
  10 Letter of Acceptance
  11 ERP Statement

 

PLEASE READ THE REQUIREMENTS CAREFULLY AND DO THE INSTRUCTION BELOW:

- For the downloaded documents (1 ,2, 3), fill it completely with the right information, such as Indonesia Phone Number for CV and print
- For all documents, scan the original file
- Scan and keep all the documents into a CD (compact disc), in JPG/ PDF with max capacity 300kb (excluded photograph, it should only be in JPG) and fit size
- Any documents (e.g., transcript) which have more than 1 page should be scanned in one file in pdf format.
- Put all of the documents into a green file folder
- Only files that meet the completely correct requirements will be processed (first in, first out)
- Incomplete files will be returned, and IAO will contact the student or representative for completion
- The quota for receipt of Study Permit Letter files at IAO 20 files/day
- Acceptance of Study Permit Letter in office days Monday-Friday starts at 09.00 - 12.00 WIB
- The issued Study Permit Letter will be sent via email as listed on the Applicant’s CV

 

 3. PROCEDURE AND REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING VISA

1 Must have an ERP/EPO
2 Must have a Study Permit Letter
3 Must have a complete dose of vaccine certificate in English, issued by a sworn translator from domain country, in addition to the country of origin
4 Must have the ownership of health insurance/travel insurance that includes health financing, including COVID-19 prevailing during in Indonesia
5 Make a Medical Statement: Proof of good health and being free of infectious diseases issued by the Hospital in the country of origin
6 Cover Letter of good conduct from authorized authorities in the country of origin, that foreigners never correct a crime
7 Required to make a Letter of Declaration as follows: (Download)
 
  • Willing to follow the guidelines to enter Indonesia
 
  • Willing to comply with all Indonesian Health Protocols
 
  • Having sufficient funds and providing travel costs, quarantine, RT-PCR swab tests, and other expenses occur during my period of time to enter Indonesia in this situation of COVID-19 Pandemic
8 Submit an Application Letter for making a visa to IAO through a representative with the following requirements:
  1 A copy of Student ID Card
  2 A copy of Latest Tuition Fee
  3 A copy of Passport
  4 A copy of stamp / proof of ERP
  5 A color printed of Study Permit Letter
  6 Coloured photograph 3x4
  7 Provide three sheets of Indonesian stamp duty IDR 10,000
  8 Provide one yellow map
  9 Law and Employment Declaration (Provided by IAO)
  10 Application Letter (Provided by IAO)
9 IAO will inform the student or representative if the Cover Letter, Declaration and Guarantee Letter of Sponsor are complete and available to collect
