USU Strengthens Academic Partnership with Srinakharinwirot University (SWU)

Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) successfully conducted an official visit to Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) in Thailand on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. The visit marked another milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two institutions, reinforcing their shared commitment to academic and cultural collaboration.
The meeting was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Prapaporn Rojsiriruch, Vice President for International Relations and Communications, and Mr. Sakditat Watanapak, Acting Director of the International Relations and Communications Office. During the discussion, both parties expressed appreciation for the ongoing partnership and the continuation of student exchange activities between USU and SWU this year.
The International Relations and Communications Office of SWU also invited several key representatives to the meeting, including:
•    Assistant to the President for Student Affairs
•    Assistant to the President for International Relations
•    Faculty of Humanities
•    Faculty of Fine Arts
•    Faculty of Social Sciences
•    Faculty of Agricultural Product Technology and Innovation
•    Bodhivijjalaya College (College of Creative Agriculture)
•    International College for Sustainability Studies
The meeting provided an opportunity for both universities to discuss potential areas of collaboration, particularly in student mobility programs, curriculum development, and joint initiatives to support the internationalization of higher education.
The Head of the International Affairs Office (IAO) at USU stated that the visit was a valuable opportunity to strengthen cooperation with SWU further. "This meeting allowed both universities to explore more concrete opportunities for future collaboration and exchange activities,” they noted.
The visit concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing optimism that the strengthened partnership will lead to new academic initiatives and greater international exposure for students from both institutions.
